Disclaimer

Read this before running anything from this site. In short: these guides describe what worked on my hardware, they are published in the hope they are useful, and you run them at your own risk.

No warranty

Everything on this site is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

These are personal notes from a home lab, not vendor documentation and not professional advice. Hardware, firmware, operating system versions and network conditions differ. A procedure that worked here may behave differently, or not at all, on your system.

You are responsible for your own systems

You are solely responsible for deciding whether a procedure is appropriate for your environment, for understanding each command before you run it, and for the consequences of running it. Before following any guide here:

Commands marked as destructive can delete data, interrupt services, or make a system unbootable. They are hidden behind a click and left commented out in downloadable scripts for a reason. Uncommenting them is your decision.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or anything obtained from it — including data loss, hardware damage, service downtime, lost revenue, corrupted backups, security incidents, or the cost of putting any of that right.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — in particular liability for intent or gross negligence, or for injury to life, body or health.

Third parties

Product and company names are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only. Mention of a product is not an endorsement, and nothing here is affiliated with or approved by any vendor. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; I have no control over their content.

Your values stay with you

The hostnames, paths and other values you type into a guide's “Your values” panel are stored in your own browser to save you retyping them. They are never transmitted to this site or anywhere else.

Corrections

If something here is wrong or has become outdated, please tell me. Guides are revised as things change, and the date shown on each one is when it was last touched.
